SOCRA President’s Award for Outstanding Service

The President’s Award for Outstanding Service to SOCRA is designed to recognize a member of SOCRA who has made a significant and sustained contribution to SOCRA that advances SOCRA’s mission and helped it achieve its goals.

Award Criteria

Nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1) Professional Excellence

  • Demonstrates leadership in advancing clinical research practices. 
  • Maintains exemplary compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and regulatory guidance. 
  • Encourages innovation or efficiency in the research process.

2) SOCRA Engagement & Service

  • Actively participates in SOCRA events, chapter leadership, training, or mentorship programs
  • Demonstrates commitment to advancing SOCRA’s mission and community.

3) Advocacy and Education

  • Promotes professional development among peers and emerging professionals.

  • Supports initiatives to improve public awareness or understanding of clinical research.

4) Ethical Integrity

  • Upholds the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

  • Fosters an inclusive, respectful, and transparent research environment.

5) Impact and Influence

  • Makes a demonstrable difference at the institutional, regional, or national level through their contributions.

  • Inspires others in the field to strive for excellence and continuous learning.

Eligibility Criteria

Nominees must:

  • A current CCRP
  • Be a current SOCRA member in good standing
  • Have made significant contributions to the clinical research profession
  • Demonstrate alignment with SOCRA’s mission, vision, and ethical standards
  • Show leadership and/or impact that reaches beyond their immediate institution
  • Not be a current member of the SOCRA Board of Directors

Note: Self nominations are permitted.

Award Benefits

The awardee will receive:

  • Complimentary registration for the SOCRA Annual Conference (excludes Preconference Workshops) and reimbursement for travel costs up to $500
  • A plaque presented at the Annual Conference
  • An announcement on the SOCRA website and interview for the SOCRA blog

Nomination Requirements

  • A statement addressing the award criteria (up to 500 words)
  • A two-page CV (minimum 10 point font)

2026 Timeline

  • Applications Open: May 4, 2026
  • Applications Deadline: June 1, 2026
  • Awardee Notifications: June 17, 2026
  • Annual Conference: September 25-27, 2026

Nominations submitted after the deadline of June 1, 2026, 11:59pm US Eastern Time, incomplete nominations, or nominations that do not adhere to submission requirements (word and page limits) will not be considered.
